FROM LEARNING HOW TO SAY SORRY

“Chocolate says “I’m sorry” so much better than words.”  ― Rachel Vincent

Learn how to say sorry.

It’s not going to be easy.

A part of you may not feel entirely ready to do this, but another part of you – a giant rock that’s rolling around in the pit of your gut – will realize that until you do this, nothing in your world will feel right.

Your heart will beat with tension, with anxiety, with a suffocating pressure that there’s a problem out there that you can fix. Maybe the other person owes you a sorry, too.

Maybe they’ll say it. Maybe they never will. That’s okay. It’s not an easy thing.

After you graduate from pre-school and your mom no longer accompanies you on play dates, there’s really no one out there who will teach you how to say it or when to say or most importantly why to say it.

But just know this.

We all say things and do things and don’t say things or do things – we all make mistakes.

And once you realize how hard it is to say sorry, it will suddenly make it harder for you to do those things you don’t really mean to do in the first place again. Maybe you still will. I don’t know, I guess sometimes I still do.

But that’s okay.

Just learn how to say sorry.
